We have received reports of inconsistent behavior when FontBase Root folder is located on a network drive, or when some of the watched folders you have added into FontBase are located on a network drive. By network drive here we mean a drive connected via LAN, a NAS drive, services such as Google Drive, Dropbox etc.
Sometimes it takes a while for your computer to get full access to the network drive, hence the inconsistent behaviour you might see in FontBase. For example, you launch FontBase with a folder on a network drive added as a watched folder and you have FontBase open on computer startup. It's possiblle that FontBase loads faster that the access to network drive is established, so FontBase tries to check on the watched folder, cannot access it and removes it thinking it was physically deleted from the hard drive.
At this moment we are still looking for a possible solution to overcome the limitations of such network setups. During this time we recommend adding network drive folders as regular, not watched, folders, to make for a more stable experience.
At this moment this functionality is still pending.
The most likely cause of this is lack of a stable internet connection. Please check your data connection and try again. If the error still persists, head over to our forum or shoot us an email and you'll definitely get the help you need!
If you've logged into FontBase but then disconnected from the internet for an extended period of time, this can happen, yes. This is a rare case, but it's still possible. If you think you're being logged out more often than you should be, our forum or email are just a click away.
To make sure the plugin is not installed, navigate to the InDesign plugins folder and see if the FontBase plugin is in there. If it is indeed there, just remove it and InDesign will have nothing to complain about. If it's not there, but you're still experiencing issues with this error message, contact us via our forum or email and we'll fix it as soon as we can.
First, make sure you've checked out this part of the tutorial. If the issue still persists, our forum or email are always open to provide additional help.
