Introducing: font license management for teams

Managing licenses for your fonts was one of the top requests for a long while now. Many teams that use FontBase Awesome also asked us for a way to track font usage and activation across their account. Keeping track of how many computers a font is used on can be a real pain in the as...terisk, especially if you have 100 team members and computers. Well, that pain will be gone now.

Starting today, a subscription to FontBase Awesome also includes a font license management feature. There is a new Licenses page accessible in FontBase app, where you can see all your licenses, their expiration date, number of seats and number of uses across your team. You can also see what licenses have exceeded their usage limits.

To create a license, simply open any font Family page and navigate to the Licenses tab. There you can click a font to create a new license for it and enter the required details, like usage limit and expiration date. You can also click the "License all" button to create licenses for every font in the font family.

If a license is present, font families and fonts in your lists will now have a small diamond icon next to the font name. The blue icon color indicates there are still free seats available; yellow icon color indicates the license has reached its usage limit; and red icon color indicates you have exceeded the amount of seats allowed by the license.

When an online team member activates a font, the license usage is updated in real time for all team members. So everyone can see exactly what fonts are being used and how many seats are left. In future update, we will add the ability to block font activation if the usage limit is exceeded. So for now, the status is only indicative.

When you add any licenses, they are securely stored in your account, so if you install FontBase on a new computer, you can see your licenses right away. The current license limit is 1000 and the seat/usage limit is 99. These limits are subject to change in future updates.

• Bulk license editing and creation
• Search through licensed fonts on the Organize page
• Add and store more license info
• Block font activation if the usage limit is exceeded
