Paid providers

A provider is a collection of fonts, that are not stored locally on your computer, but are rather hosted remotely, and are downloaded only when you activate a font from that provider. Google fonts is our default provider which will always be free to use, even commercially.

Paid providers are a special type of providers that require an active FontBase account and a subscription to be used. When not subscribed to a paid provider, it is disabled, but you will be able to browse and look through the provider fonts, without the ability to activate them. When you subscribe to a paid provider, it is enabled, and you will be able to activate all the fonts from that provider and use them in your design projects.

To subscribe to a provider, first you will need to have a FontBase account. Currently, to create an account, you will need to subscribe to FontBase Awesome at web.fontba.se/subscribe/monthly. If you have a promo code, your card will not be charged, so basically you can get a FontBase account for free.

When you have an account, navigate to the Providers section at web.fontba.se/account/providers and enable the provider you want to use. Based on the selected pricing (Monthly or Yearly), your card will be charged. After this, the provider will be enabled and all fonts get available for activation inside FontBase on your computer.

You can cancel your provider subscription at any time by disabling it in your account. When the subscription is cancelled and the billing period ends, you will no longer be able to activate fonts from that provider inside FontBase.

Please note, the provider subscription is separate from your FontBase Awesome subscription. If you cancel your FontBase Awesome subscription, your provider subscription will remain active. And, if you cancel your provider subscription, your FontBase Awesome subscription will remain active. So basically, you don't need a FontBase Awesome subscription to use providers, you just need an existing FontBase account.

For more info about a specific provider font usage and restrictions, please refer to the provider page inside FontBase app.
